
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February 1970, ([1]) was an American actor, producer and singer best famous for her performance as Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, Critics' choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. In 2019, she starred in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young's acting career started with theatre. She made her Broadway debut on stage in 1997 in the role of Mary in The Life's initial lineup. The Off-Broadway roles include in Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her TV debut in a recurring role on The NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In addition, she guest-starred in the show Law & Order in 1997 and 1998 in two different characters. Her film debut was the year 1999 when she starred as a part in Black and White's crime drama.
