Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock or alternative, but it also has influences from punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely considered to be a symbol for feminist music. In the year 1990, she was among the first artists to create her own independent record label. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while students at the same school. Her mother is from Montreal and her father has Italian heritage. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. It is a track from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio release. Another version of the song appears in the soundtrack to the 1999 Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she would be hosting the three-day event in an old Louisiana slave plantation. A lot of people (including us) did not feel moved by her cancellation. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterwards. While she's best known for her role as Little Folksinger.
