Dua Lipa was born on 22 August 1995 in London. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin lipa. She has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. There are two sisters, Rina and Gjin. Lipa was taught to play guitar as well as sing under the guidance of her father Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads Kosovan's band Oda. At home her father continued to play music including his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics.
